"I believe that music has a place in every child’s life.  It is my goal to nurture the passion and skills that will make my students lifelong players." 

Lisa Lederer has guided hundreds of suzuki violin students in their discovery of their own special talents for almost a quarter century. Ms. Lederer trained at New England Conservatory and the American Suzuki Institute and is registered through Book 8 with Suzuki Association of Americas (SAA).

 

Ms. Lederer owns and is the Director of the Cambridge Suzuki Violins, which is located at the Cambridge Music Consortium in Cambridge, MA. She is also on the faculty of the Rivers School of Music in Weston, MA. Her students have performed in local venues such as Symphony Hall, the Boston Children’s Museum, The Burren and at local events such as the WGBH Cartoon Festival, the Cambridge Science Festival, the Harvard Square May Fair and have performed the National Anthem for the Boston Celtics.

 

Ms. Lederer is a former faculty member of the Longy School of Music, where she directed its Suzuki Program for twenty years. She also taught at the New School of Music and at the Bedford Public Schools after school string program, as well as at the Somerville String Camp in Somerville, MA. Active in the MA Suzuki community, she been President and Membership Secretary of Suzuki:MA, as well as serving as a board member and on the violin committee. For many years she directed the Massachusetts Suzuki Festival She is a guest clinician at workshops, institutes, camps and festivals throughout New England.

 

Lisa Lederer is an accomplished performer who freelances extensively in the Boston area and has performed with the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra, Boston Ballet, New Hampshire Symphony, as well as many other orchestral, choral and chamber groups.
